Why does a relationship turn from love into pulling, control, and harm?

Direct answer

Because once a relationship forms, it is no longer just two still people, but a continuously changing "between" (jian); and within this between, a shi is born — a tendency, a tension, a directional force. Love, dependence, fear, possessiveness, expectation, and power may all keep adding direction to this shi. When both sides only stare at what the other must be, and can no longer see how the relationship itself is changing, the original closeness can turn into pulling.

Further explanation

What Zai-Sheng Thought offers is not a one-size-fits-all verdict of "who is right and who is wrong," but a way of observing: look at the two ends, look at the between, look at where the shi is heading. Real change is not just asking one side to say something different, but seeing whether the whole structure of the relationship is still in mutual becoming, or whether it has already let one side swallow the other.

Conclusions that must not be drawn

Do not use "mutual becoming" to downplay abuse, violence, or responsibility; real-world harm still requires real-world boundaries and safety measures.
