# Galileo（Experimental science）

## Common research question

**How did Galileo argue for a new picture of the heavens?**

In Sidereus Nuncius, Galileo recorded changing positions of bodies near Jupiter and interpreted them as orbiting that planet. This challenged the idea that all heavenly bodies must orbit Earth, but the Jovian satellites alone do not establish heliocentrism. His mathematical and motion arguments also matter, and detailed observational claims require verification against the source editions.

## Interpretive boundary

Distinguish what observations establish from larger models; avoid invented quotations.
