## Common research question

**What is the Will beyond ordinary wanting for Schopenhauer?**

Schopenhauer's Will is not merely a conscious wish with a plan; it is his metaphysical account of the world's underlying striving. The World as Will and Representation connects embodiment, aesthetic contemplation, compassion, and denial of the Will. Temporary relief through art and the proposed ultimate release are not the same.

## Interpretive boundary

Track later additions and avoid reducing metaphysical Will to individual preference.
