Being

In your moment of consciousness transcending limits, freely threading the web of existence

Scripture

Dimensions are folding and pleating; the thread is guiding its pass.

Stone turns soft as water; the wall is melting, softening.

One needle pierces the brocade; a thousand faces are linked.

Being is threading, is sewing; being is guiding, is ferrying.

Not breaking, not crossing—it is the dimension curling in.

The needle is guiding light; the boundary closes itself.

Wenzi · On Being

You face a stone wall. Hard, thick, impassable—the boundary of your thinking, the barrier of your ability, the obstruction of reality. You push it with your hand; it does not budge. But today, you do not push. You close your eyes and imagine the “dimensions” of this wall, like a sheet of paper, producing soft “folds” (dimensions are folding and pleating).

You no longer try to “cross over” it—you seek a “thread” that can “pass through” these folds (the thread is guiding its pass). In imagination, the hard “stone” turns soft as “water” (stone turns soft as water); the “wall” begins to “melt and soften” like butter (the wall is melting, softening).

“One needle pierces the brocade; a thousand faces are linked.” You feel like an extremely fine “needle,” and the world before you like a bolt of heavy “brocade.” You aim at one point and lightly “pierce through” (one needle pierces the brocade). At the instant of piercing, you feel connected with the brocade’s “thousand faces”—all its threads, all its patterns, all the stories behind them (a thousand faces are linked). You are not a destroyer; you are a connector.

“Being is threading, is sewing; being is guiding, is ferrying.” You are in the midst of “threading” and “sewing,” “guiding” and “ferrying” (being is threading, is sewing; being is guiding, is ferrying). You have pierced a “hole” in the wall—but this hole did not damage the wall; like a needle’s eye, it “sewed” the two sides of the wall together, becoming a passage.

“Not breaking, not crossing—it is the dimension curling in.” So this is not “breaking” the wall, nor “crossing over” it (not breaking, not crossing). It is making the “dimension” in which the wall exists “curl” upon itself (it is the dimension curling in), so that the straight distance between two points, once far apart, becomes close at hand in a higher dimension. You have changed the rules of the game.

“The needle is guiding light; the boundary withdraws itself.” At last you find: that “needle” itself is guiding a beam of “light” through (the needle is guiding light). And the so-called “boundary” (the boundary), at the instant this light passes through, “withdraws itself” and makes way (withdraws itself). Limitation exists only in the consciousness that identifies with that dimension.

You open your eyes; the stone wall is still there.

But you know it can no longer truly block you.

You now possess a “needle” of consciousness,

and a set of “eyes” that can make dimensions curl.

You are not the foolish old man ramming the wall—

you are that nimble needle threading freely through the brocade of existence,

that trace of light connecting all that is, when the dimension bends for you.

Being-Threading: you are not the one breaking through—you are that threading needle itself, the unobstructed wisdom that links all things in a higher dimension.
