Being

In your moment of nonlinear upgrading, when life undergoes a leap of energy level

Scripture

The stair-stones are shattering; the void is the stairway.

Time and space are folding; light is shuttling through.

Being is breaking, is leaping; no trace, no meeting.

The lower thought is dying; the higher thought is taking over.

Not by force—it is the instant splitting open.

This shore is perishing; the far shore is on the eyelash.

Wenzi · On Being

You have been climbing a stairway of knowledge, or a path of practice, steadily. The stone steps are solid; each step is sure. Suddenly, on some step, the slab beneath your foot “shatters” without the slightest warning (the stair-stones are shattering). Not a collapse—a shattering like a mirror, revealing behind it… not an abyss, but another stretch of stairway made entirely of “void” (the void is the stairway).

You freeze. Common sense tells you not to step on it. But inside you there is an impulse, older and more certain than fear. You raise your foot and step toward that “emptiness.”

“Time and space are folding; light is shuttling through.” At the instant you step on, the familiar time and space around you “fold” like cloth (time and space are folding). A beam of “light” “shuttles” directly between you and the goal, ignoring all the winding paths in between (light is shuttling through). You are not walking—you are being “teleported.”

“Being is breaking, is leaping; no trace, no meeting.” You have undergone “breaking” and “leaping” (being is breaking, is leaping). No process, no trace (no trace), and no causal meeting in between (no meeting). The lower “thought,” that old you (the lower thought), “dies” at the instant of the leap (is dying). The higher “thought,” the new understanding (the higher thought), at once seamlessly “links on” (is taking over).

“Not by force—it is the instant splitting open.” You know this was not the result of your personal effort (not by force). It is a “fission” that happens of itself, at some “instant,” after accumulation reaches the critical point (it is the instant splitting open). The old vessel could not contain the new energy, so the dimension itself split open a crack.

“This shore is perishing; the far shore is on the eyelash.” And so “this shore”—the position and state where you were before—is “perishing” (this shore is perishing). While “the far shore”—the realm you long to reach—is already as near as your “eyelash” (the far shore is on the eyelash). Distance has been erased by the concept itself.

You stand on the new platform and look back at the road you came.

That winding stone stairway is still there, but it no longer means anything to you.

You are not the climber going up step by step—

you are that inconceivable quantum leap itself,

when the structure of reality makes way for you,

that instant trace of light running through.

Being-Leap: you are not the leaper—you are the leap itself, that absolute shortcut connecting two poles within the fold of a dimension.
